Dining Out for Life 2015 (and Cuban Night)!

Tomorrow night, Chorizo, along with Chef Hector’s restaurants Modesto (modestonc.com) and Salsas (salsasnc.com), will be participating in Asheville’s Dining Out for Life event!

Please join us for the 13th annual Dining Out For Life® benefit and 20% of your bill will be donated to the Western North Carolina AIDS Project.   Since 1986 WNCAP has worked to reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS in our region, while improving the lives of individuals and families living with AIDS.

Asheville is one of 60 cities across the country raising funds for a local AIDS Service Agency making Dining Out for Life ® the single largest AIDS Fundraiser in the country.  Last year over $176,000 was raised locally to fund the mission of WNCAP and helped us expand our services to 18 counties of WNC.

This year, all you have to do to support a great cause is simply go out to eat!  Enjoy a great meal and help save a life.  How easy is that?

Tomorrow night also happens to be CUBAN NIGHT! Not only will you be supporting a great cause, but you’ll also enjoy cuisine prepared by Chef Hector himself!

We’ll see you soon!

Spend a Night in Havana

Cuban Dishes Every Thursday!

Every Thursday night, Chorizo will be hosting a unique course of old-school dishes from Cuba! As Chef Hector Diaz puts it, “[Thursday nights are] going to be about the undeniable icons of the culinary scene from the island.” Think of it as Cuba 101 – the curriculum of courses will span from popular foods from the city’s capital (Havana) to the lesser known metropolitan cuisine of Santa Clara and the agricultural regions of the “Oriente.”

Unique Meat, Fish and Vegetarian Fare

Oxtail, Kan Kan Pork, and Bacalao (cod fish) are just a few of the entree features Chef Hector will start wheeling out on Thursday evenings. Starting tomorrow (April 2nd), the chef and staff look forward to acquainting our Asheville citizens to hit dishes from Cuba!

“Since we are doing this weekly, every week we want to challenge ourselves to introduce something new. The dishes will start to get really focused on the regions.”

Cuban Night wouldn’t be complete without the specialty mixed cocktails of the region! As Chef Hector says, “no Cuban food is ever complete without a couple of mojitos to balance out the medley of spices that never burn, but always flavor.”

Hello world!

We are moving into some serious deliciousness.
